The interior of "Masala Zone Soho" is a successful blend of elegance and functionality. The space was recently renovated and features warm lighting, rich colors, and furnishings that combine traditional Indian elements with contemporary design. Particularly striking are the intricate wall murals depicting tribal art and the sophisticated lighting that creates an inviting atmosphere. A separate area, which can be partitioned by a curtain, provides space for private celebrations and adds flexibility to the restaurant. The ambiance is lively but not overwhelming – ideal for a relaxed meal before or after a night out in the nearby West End.

Masala Zone restaurant reviews

Culinarily, "Masala Zone Soho" distinguishes itself through its variety and authenticity. It offers a wide range of dishes that have their roots in both the gourmet kitchens and street stalls of India. A standout is the Butter Chicken, a creamy, rich dish from northern India, whose silky tomato-butter sauce perfectly complements tender chicken. The Thalis – traditional Indian platters featuring a selection of dishes – are also a highlight: they combine freshly prepared vegetables, spicy curries, lentils, and rice into a balanced flavor experience that reflects the diversity of Indian cuisine. For street food enthusiasts, there are the crispy Pani Puri, small dough balls filled with spiced water that release an explosion of flavors with the first bite. Another favorite is the homemade Paneer, made fresh daily and shining in dishes like Paneer Makhanwala with its velvety sauce.

The drink menu creatively complements the food. In addition to classic Lassis offered in various flavors like mango or salty, there are innovative options such as Masala Coke – a cola infused with Indian spices and mint, which is both refreshing and surprising. The service is another plus: the staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and often ready to offer recommendations, whether for choosing a dish or determining the right level of spiciness. Orders are placed at the counter, but the food is brought to the table, making the process efficient and straightforward. During peak times, it can get busy, but most guests find the lively atmosphere to be part of the experience.

The food is good but I personally didn't find it value for money. Although the atmosphere and services are really good.

The ambience was Amazing...very cozy and perfect for a good dinner Talking about the food, gud Indian food catering to British tastes. Not spicy at all. Not typical indian , but more of a Britishy indian . A bit on pricey side. Easily 30-40£ per person

Very bad restaurant, very very expensive, £5 for small Nan bread ! all dishes are small and very expensive. Also food is very spicy and they refuse to reduce the chilly on it !

Delicious Food & Generous Portions Masala Zone in Soho delivered a fantastic dining experience! The food was great—flavorful, well-prepared, and truly satisfying. I loved that I felt welcomed enough to eat with my hands, which made the experience even more authentic. The portions were generous and very filling, though I wouldn’t mind a bit more prawns added to the dishes. Overall, a solid spot for a hearty and enjoyable Indian meal!

This is a well-known Indian restaurant in London with several branches. I went to the one in Soho. The food was lovely, but I do wish they included a chapati or two—or some other bread—with the Chicken menu. It’s tradition, after all 😉, and it did feel like something was missing. Big thanks to Akhila for recommending this special dessert—it was spot on!🤝🏼 ايس كريم بالفستق الحلبي مع بهارات هنديه بنصحكم تجربوها اذا بدكم اشي حلو من عندهم اما الاكل فجربو اي اشي من الاطباق الهنديه المعروفه بس لا الرز ولا الخبز بجي مع الاكل! لازم كل اشي تطلبوه اكسترا🤷🏻‍♀️
